maybe this summer’s dutch display was a taste of what’s to come, but a great run in the group stages and a loss in the quarters isn’t a piece of silverware.

Honestly, I think Holland were satisfied after their ‘Group of Death’ dismantling. You see how they reacted and responded after the French tilt? I dont blame them. Besides Spain and maybe Russia, they accomplished plenty.

Brian, I thought the Robben goal was spectacular as well. (And keep in mind that this is coming from a France fan.) After that one, the part of me that wasn’t thinking, “Oh, holy bloody hell” was thinking, “Ooh, pretty!”

A beautiful goal, but to my mind it wasn’t even the best goal the Netherlands scored in that game. I liked Robben’s super-tight angle shot straight over the goalkeeper after two devastating through balls.
