And both come right before each team are due to play Australia, with a stiff warning for the Socceroos to take their foe seriously (the Aussies defeated the Uzbeks 2-0).

Qatar is actually next on the Socceroo schedule – a game which could see Australia qualify for SA 2010. What kind of training do you think they’re in for? Blindfolded goalkeeping in front of baby seals? Nude slide tackling in the sand dunes?
