Riots & Molotov Cocktails In Senegal

By: Chris | October 13th, 2008 | No Comments »

Good times in Africa as unhappy fans turn into widespread riots after Gambia came up with an 85th minute equalizer to steal a share of the booty at 1-1, dumping Senegal from World Cup qualifying in front of their home fans in dramatic fashion. A look at the table proves even more cruel, as with those lost two points they would’ve won their group.

So the fans of Senegal decided to voice their displeasure and, as you can see, light shit on fire in the capital of Dakur (including riots in the stadium, as you can see in the pic after the jump). Luckily injuries were very minimal - with one report as low as just one - but this once again breeds little confidence in Africa’s ability to hold the World Cup anytime soon. Let’s just hope Sepp received one hell of a Patek Philippe for his our troubles.
