Photo: World Cup Plans Not Going Spectacularly.

Caption via Yahoo:
South African kids sit next to Nelspruit’s new football stadium on January 20, 2009 that will be used as one of the 10 stadiums across South Africa for the 2010 World Cup.
That’s a football stadium? This clearly is not going to go well.

I hope the players don’t strike the ball too hard. That stadium doesn’t look structurally stable.

Then again Yahoo did mistake Anelka for Shevchenko, so you never can be too sure…

You know I highly doubt there’s a tele anywhere near them.

I bet it was Stoke vs Spurs. Can you see his face? That’s how shocking the defense is.

Be a little responsible.Your blog is called worldcupblog.Report on real things like news on the following link.

this is crazy!! I live here and Im even surprised at how spectacular some of these stadiums look.
If you haven’t been there, DONT’T diss it.

Yvette- it is a blog. Which means that things like these will be posted along with the regular news.
Kim- People were just making comments on the photo and it’s caption. We know its not an accurate representation, we were just having a little fun.

Yvette & Kim, your senses of humour called, they’re ready to come back – if you’ve missed them.

I agree, it’s just a bit of harmless humour– and it is actually pretty funny. However, when I first saw the picture my heart sank. Those kids look tired and unhappy , like they are carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders. The stone structure behind them is probably their house. It’s obvious that they won’t have a tele, they probably don’t even have running water! But trust me they aren’t bored, maybe just worried about when their next meal is going to be. I get the humour but I still feel abit sick!

Follow preparations. See the progress. Be less ignorant perhaps.
