Might have been tripped, might not have. Either way, Diego shows us how to properly go to ground: perfect arch, pained facial expression, arms flailing, wavy hair. (AP Photo/Vincent Thian)

I think it is pathetic to dive. It takes a lot away from the game. Players are playing to try and draw a foul because they can’t get around defenders. What happened to good old fashion broken ankles?

Diving’s one thing but allowing players who’ve just been stretchered off to return to the field right away is another. I’m looking at you, Mr. Beerens.

I like diving, it adds drama to the sport. Can you imagine if football was played ouright, you know, no diving, no goals called back, no dubious offside calls, no match fixing, it would be boring. Just accept the way things are, they are never going to change. As long as money controls our way of life, cheating and corruption will be rampant. You see cheating in every olympic sport on a daily basis. WHO CARES! “Fair Play” is just a facade to appeal to the good will of every man. Fair Play didn’t exist in the past and doesn’t exist now. Take your heads out of your asses and face reality for a change.

Ben - yes, I can imagine the game like that. And it would be wonderful.
