Photo of the Day: The Return of Ronaldinho’s Smile!

Remember when Ronaldinho ruled the world? He was constantly showing us that toothy grin while making fools out of various defenders and goalkeepers. With his transfer to AC Milan and place as an overage player in Brazil’s Olympic squad, the smile is back.

In this photo he’s hugging a passenger at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport yesterday, before the Brazil squad flew out to Beijing Singapore, on their way to Beijing.

I love this photo. It makes my maternal area go all warm and fuzzy.

That’s a very good sign!
Hopefully he’s very happy at Milan, and in turn very productive!

I really missed the smile too.

Daryl, the squad flew out to Singapore from Paris. And I should know. He was on the TV news here last night, in regards to the Brazil Olympic football squad being here in Singapore in preparations for the Olympics in Beijing. They will be training here and have a friendly against a local selection next Moday before flying to Vietnam for another friendly match.

Yeah, he is really here.

Awwwwww, what a great photo! She looks so happy. I am so hoping that Dinho can get himself back physically and mentally into his game! I’ve missed his street-kid style (that’s what his style is called in Brazil — the kind street kids play). C’mon Dinho, take Cronaldo out of the headlines and give us our first Olympic gold medal!

Diana,

You’re right of course. The Reuters text under the original photo claimed they were flying to Beijing, but seems they got it wrong. It’s corrected above.

Let’s hope his new found happiness brings his game back…
