british national team has been performing poorly in the last couple of years. if it wasn’t for foreign coaches saving their asses, i don’t know where this team would be. also, this team is getting old, its time for new youngsters to be in the team. all you see are the lampards, beckam, john terry, micheal owen, steven gerrad etc these guys should be in their 30’s by now.
i think the problem is connected to the EPL, very few young players are brought up in the acedemy’s of clubs. and most clubs prefer signing foreign players to home players. capello said a while back that 35% of epl are british born players the rest 75% are foreign. this is an issue, and it seems it won’t stop
a major reform is needed in england national team

Same old tired arguments and prejudices. If the foreigners were the real problem, then why was the England team rubbish in the 70s and 80s as well, when there were hardly any foreigners?

what bad play from england…typical mediocre capello football

you know what the problem is…too many superstarts on the team…too many egos….its just like the US Basketball team in the last 3/4 years…just get all the superstars and they’ll play well..(yea right) beckham? lampard? terry?…has anyone ever thought about maybe there not just not playing well…they just arent any good??…they didnt make it the euros for a reason…and maybe just maybe…not even make it to the world cup….
