I would like you to put your money were your mouth is. Nigeria is far more dangerous than people give them credit for. Watch out for the Uche brothers in La Liga btw them they have close to 6-8 goals agaist Barca and R Madrid. If Obafemi is healthy he will always bring trouble. Also note we have met the Argentines at the u-20 tournaments and the Olympic games, granted we lost but very, very close games.

If there are any weaknesses the Nigerians will find it, mark my words. Saw Maradona at the R Madrd- Almeria game sweating when Kalu Uche scored a scorcher. Believe me he will sweat more come June next year.

my theory is that since the local argie league is suffering money wise, grondona hired maradona to call local players and try to make a few new stars that can be bought in Europe thus bringing in more money

@David Martinez: Yep, Argentina should go through, but then they should go through in any of the groups. I just think its a little disrespectful to the other three teams to suggest this group is a ‘blessing’ for Maradona. I see it more as a banana skin, to be honest. This is one of the more interesting groups.

I think we will be unfair to ourselves if we underestimate any side now when we are not sure of several factors that usually come to play by crunch time, e.g injuries to top players, good preparation, form of players, referees.

For Nigeria, am sure the dust would settle in no time and all hands would be on deck remember its on the African continent and every match would be like a home game. The tactical indiscipline days are over for most since practically all the players play in Europe now. The Koreans are very technical and on a good day would defeat sides that snooze. Likewise the Greeks, they are very organised so i do not expect an easy group at all. Not even sure for Argentina.

yes, I can explain.
Our football federation is on crack for hiring him then keeping him in the position.
Diego’s worst enemy is his lack of effective training sessions for the team to mold and be fluid once they are on the field with another team… and his other worst enemy is his choice of players.
If veron is on out starting lineup this June 2010 then we can flush our dreams of a trophy down the toilet along with any other drug and paraphernalia before the group matches. Maradona has already decided to bring Veron and palermo, who havnt played in a world cup since 2002 and 1998 respectively.
And another main concern is that he does not know how to utilize messi.
If maradona was smart he would start:

lol Marco. I really don’t understand why Diego hasn’t been fired yet, or better yet, why he was hired in the first place. For all of his brilliance as a player, it was rarely tactical, he mostly exploded with power and speed and few could contain him. So, i don’t get it. Any Argies want to explain?

Diego’s biggest opponent in Group B is… Diego himself. Sorry to use the cliché, but things are as they are.

I am strongly convinced that from this point onwards, the only chance Argentina have of getting out of that group is to follow these steps to the letter:
1) Maradona meets players in changing room, explains tactics, gives starting eleven.
2) Maradona is sent to fetch water by Cambiasso. Zanetti gathers teammates and says “Ok, here’s how we’re really gonna play.”
3) Argentina wins. Maradona is held in triumph. He remains puzzled however: his players did nothing of what he told them and yet the team won 6-0.

Rinse & repeat.
