Luka Modrić, January’s Must Have Player

By: Daryl | December 28th, 2007 | 1 Comment »

Croatian playmaker Luka Modrić is about to be auctioned off by Dinamo Zagreb to the highest English Premier League bidder, with Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and Man City all ready and willing to write very big cheques in the January transfer window. But what will these clubs be getting for their money? If the above video is anything to go by it seems that 22-year-old Modrić is a Zidane-like creative midfielder, prone to wistfully wandering Croatian streets while thinking about his past. And for some reason his goals are best viewed in slow motion replay set to the vocal stylings of Bono. Got to love the way Modrić goes past the fullback on 2:15 though, and the classy keepy-uppy goal on 2:35.

Rumor has it he’s Chelski bound with a presser Saturday afternoon.

I wonder if there will be a sequel as he calmly strolls the streets of London.
