Highlights from Guinea 3 - 2 Morocco

By: Laurie | January 24th, 2008 | No Comments »

I feel sorry for anybody who had to take a potty break in the 59th minute of this game. If they were gone for four minutes, they missed three goals.

In total we have five goals and a red card, and a Morocco team that was oh-so-close to an equalizing comeback.

Guinea probably deserved the win, but they were helped out a bit by the officiating. On the other hand, they lost their captain, Feindounou, for the next match after he retaliated for a foot stomping with a sharp kick, right in front of the ref. Not his most intelligent move. (What do we always tell the kids? The ref sees the response, not the provocation!)

The good news for Morocco is that Ghana looked eminently beatable today, and Namibia aren’t the pushovers many predicted. The last set of Group A games on the 28th are going to be interesting.
