Dennis Aogo Scores a Comedy Own Goal

By: Daryl | August 20th, 2008 | 4 Comments »

Dennis Aogo is an up and coming young German midfielder who currently plays for Hamburg. But he didn’t do much for his reputation last night while playing for Germany’s Under 21 team against Moldova.

Aogo tried to take a Moldovan cross down on his chest but seems the ball hit a bony spot, sending it up and over the German keeper for a really bizarre own goal. Germany lost the game 1-0.

I’m pretty sure that’s not the way to impress Jogi Löw, especially when your name already sounds a bit like “own goal”.

Brilliant. You can see the surprise on his face as it hits him.

Goals like this cause me pain in my maternal area, especially for U-21s.

Marco, are you really in France?

Ahah yes Laurie, I used to live in Paris and my folks are still here. I’m paying them a visit till end of August.

Believe it or not, I even went to see a Ligue 1 match;)
