Classic Euro Moments: Ibrahimovic’s Flick at Euro 2004

By: Daryl | March 13th, 2008 | 1 Comment »

The ball’s bouncing around in the box. Italian defenders are desperately trying to knock it away, Swedish attackers are trying to bundle it over the line. But in the middle of it all Zlatan Ibrahimovic stays cool. With his back to goal, Zlatan jumps up and sticks out one of those long legs and flicks the ball over Gigi Buffon - not just any keeper, but Gigi Buffon - with his back to goal.

Zlatan himself admitted that “it was a lucky goal”, but he was still the only player in the box to keep his head and pull out the unexpected. Sweden will be hoping Zlatan is equally “lucky” at Euro 2008.
