Why doesnt ESPN or a major network cover the championship game?

I cannot believe the officiating in the Gold Cup generally, but I just finished watching the USA v. Panama and it looked like my daughter’s u11 games.
Since when do players get to call fouls? And Ching was treated like a ladder by Baloy.
Players should not be permitted to chase an official down the tunnel, but the calls were so awful I could scarcely blame them.

I’m with you soxgirl. That reffing in the Haiti game was pitiful. Our team looks pretty strong tho, and I hope we have all the big name guys in the later rounds. If we do, we will dominate. :) USA! USA! USA!

Did anyone see the TERRIBLE refing durint the Haiti/US game???? It had to be the worse refing I have ever seen. The Costa Rican Ref should have just put the ball in the net for Haiti… It wouldn’t have been anymore obvious than it already was.

I was so glad to have found your blog when searching Google to confirm the teams/groups in this year’s Gold Cup. You have provided a brief, concise and yet complete summary of the tournament. I found not only the group listing I was looking for but also was pleasantly surprised to find the answer to a question we had during the Confed Cup–how were the Confed Cup teams selected? Thanks a lot, Daryl. Oh, and that first US goal tonight against Honduras was pretty terrific, wasn’t it?
