Your sympathies please for Ahmed Said. The Egyptian defenders name is in red because he’s the only player at the 2009 Confederation Cup that doesn’t have an English language Wikipedia page.

This draw is a joke. Egypt, Italy, Brazil and US? As opposed to Iraq, New Zealand, South Africa and Spain?

If the US scores one goal in this tournament it will be an accomplishment.

Spain needs more Liverpool players. Seriously.

And can we all agree that MacBeth Sibaya is at least top 10 best names ever?

Appears as if the US has the greatest diversity of leagues represented, don’t include Toronto FC (still MLS).

Laurie, I guess that’s what they mean by luck of the draw! Also, crap. Although I’m really looking forward to a rematch with Italy. I was lucky enough to watch that game in person in Kaiserslautern (sp?) so it holds special relevance for me!

@Jose – Too true, and I know you meant “lack thereof” for us. Although I didn’t want to say it.

@Daryl – Is there somewhere to put our predictions for the Tourney? If not, no big.
