World Cup Goals
Of course, every World Cup has its share of controversies, insane fans, great saves and terrible referee calls. But let’s face it – what we remember most are the goals. There is maybe nothing more intense or exciting in all of sport than the moments in a World Cup when ball meets net. Some say it hasn’t happened quite as often in the 2010 World Cup as they would like, but we have had some brilliant goals, and here are a few of the most notable ones:
Landon Donovan 91st minute vs. Algeria
For 90 minutes and change, the US team just couldn’t score against Algeria, and they needed to win to move on. Then good old Landycakes got a rebound he couldn’t refuse and the Americans were in the knockouts.

Milner to Defoe for England
While we’re on the subject of goals scored by English-speaking countries on June 23rd, we can’t forget the lovely pass from James Milner that found Defoe for a poke in, saving the hopes of England and putting them through to the knockouts against old enemies Germany.
