The Scandal Named Sepp

Sometimes I fear that I am the only one appalled by that embarrassing jackass Sepp Blatter. How the man stays in charge of FIFA is beyond me. Actually, I know that it is because of his fellow cronies, but I digress. It is nice to see that from time to time people call out Sepp on his nonsense and his all too frequent irresponsible remarks. Our man Ben in South Africa does just that in his weekly report about all things World Cup South Africa 2010. Maybe by the time that tournament rolls around we’ll have a new FIFA president. I’m not holding my breath.

THE LATEST ABOUT HIM IS A REMARK ABOUT ITALY’S CURRENT SCANDAL HE SAID ” ..I WOULD EXPECT SUCH THINGS HAPPENING IN AFRICA NOT IN EUROPE..”
THE GUY IS NOT JUST A MANIPULATIVE POWERFUL BUROCRAT HE IS AN EMBARRASSING , NASTY RACIST AND SOMEBODY SHOULD REMOVE HIM FROM HIS POSITION BECAUSE HE REPRESENTS EVERY COUNTRY OF THE WORLD NOT JUST FEW….SHAME ON YOU SEPP !

Ah Bob, sadly his potential heirs to the FIFA dynasty aren’t exactly paragons of virtue, either…

So when slavery, genocide, AIDS and amazing corruption runs rampant, a Sepp Blatter comment makes you guys tick? Pathetic.

Der Kaiser as head of FIFA? Might happen.

jules you are mixing apples with pears every the guy is voted in his positionin a “sort of democratic” way by many african countries as well : whoever is well informed about Sepp actions and statements knows that are borderline …and shameful..for sure not democratic …

I’m no Blatter lover, I despise him, I just think you should worry more about the aforementioned issues rather than a stupid man’s comments.

yet in this blog is soccer and Fifa we are talking about ..for everything else we have lot’s to worry about and you and i probably have many common views.

    Regarding Blatter,

I was dissappointed to hear of some of the comments he’s been making. At a recent world youth championship, a new technology was being tested that would verify if the ball had crossed the touchline or sideline, potentially improving referee’s decision making accuracy. To this, Sepp remarked (paraphrasing): Checking for a goal is fine, but we should not let the technology invade too much of the sport, as we would want to preserve the drama created by incorrect referee decisions.

WHAT! HOW! I don’t get it. If there is a way to encourage fair play, and to respect the rules of the game he purports to uphold, I would hope that it would be thoroughly explored. Whether he realizes this or not, he is backing a “scandal” of his own, willfully turning his back on erroneous decisions because they create drama????? I thought he was leading a football association not directing a soap opera.

The beauty of soccer IS soccer… and the more we can preserve the integrity of the game, the longer it will bring enjoyment and opportunity to many!

I am more worried about what he is doing to the world of football and getting super rich in the process, and off the fans.

Read Andrew Jennings’ latest book Foul! for the lowdown on FIFA and Blatter and his many cronies.

I’m halfway through and truly horrified…
