It's good news for the team. Maradona is a shitty coach with no clue about nowadays tactics. He's a great motivator, but a shitty coach nevertheless.

he was a horrible coach…evidence of that was in how he refused to watch tapes of that game with germany..cause it hurt his feelings…or how he used the exact same line up that was used against mexico against germany

any idiot can tell you that you opposing coach will be prepared for the “tactics” you used in the final game

he played with 2 wingers one def mid and messi behind the strikers….so no midfield< amateur coaching move

Diego has been treated shabily. He did make some tactical errors and omitted players most of us would have taken but is that any different from other "big name" managers who fell short.

I'm ashamed the way that the AFA and some so called argy fans have treatEd him.

We can say with certainty that Argentina without maradona does not win in 86 and would be with 1 star on their jersey!

He didn't do a bad job. Chile, Mexico, Portugal and the United States would have loved to gone home in the quarter-finals but for Argentina and their fans, this was not enough. With the quality and quantity of players we have to choose from, this performance was not up to snuff. While I'm happy to see him go, I fear who they'll put in charge and I can only hope that the new coach will be able to give us seven games in Brazil.

Best possible news for Argentina. He was an incredible talent as a player, but as a coach he left much to be desired. Loved by his team and nation, but tactically not what's best for either. I hope they find someone worthy, they're an awesome side and deserve better WC results than they've had of late.
