Parreira’s Presidential Salary

By: WC Bob | August 28th, 2006 | 6 Comments »

If there was any doubt whether being a national team coach is a better gig than being president of a nation, we think that answer has been made clear with the announcement that new South Africa manager Carlos Alberto Parreira will earn more for one month’s work than his new country’s president Thabo Mbeki earns in an entire year. Who has the harder job? Mbeki only has to deal with crime, poverty and the AIDS epidemic. Parreira has the even more impossible task of making South Africa a capable team before they host the World Cup in 2010.

regardless parreira lost the world cup,we cant forget that he won the world cup in u.s.a in 1998 on italy!!so he worths that money!!any brazilian soccer coach, player deserves to get paid vey well when they go overseas to bring respect to their country or team!so i dont think the president would care about his salary,in fact he may be very happy to have a brazilian coach to bring respect to his national team!!

Wow how can such a loser and horrible coach get all this money? Just to show how misguided these africans are.
This guy had the best soccer players on earth and decide to keep a bunch of old burnt out players in the team in name of what? Seniority? One of the major problems with brazilian notional team; some of those guys get those positions and never leave. The new coach go to the other extreme of replacing all the 11 players from 1 game to the next? Man… this sport has a lot of issues. Mostly stupidity. From FIFA down to lowest player.
