Iker Meets Sara – The Postgame

That’s Iker and journalist Sara Cabonero – Google is your very good friend – who also happens to be his girlfriend. They’ve maintained a professional on-camera appearance throughout the tournament and were a big talking point throughout.

Iker was clearly happy to see her. Not sure she was equally as happy.

(Come on, he just won the World Cup!)

That was the most romantic and emotional moment I've seen on live TV.
Since the interview began I was yelling to the TV, come on Iker be a man, kiss her, everyone want it, you want it, she want it. And when he did it the whole room broke into applause, I almost cried, it was beautiful.

There's something rotten when “journalists” turn into fans or even partners. Well, let them kiss and do more a thousand times (they're actually a quite good-looking couple) but not have them a post-game interview. It's just another sign for how critical journalism has gone down the toilet.
