Its good to voice one's opinion on the 2010 Soccer World Cup, yet the problem many people treat the world cup here in South Africa is that the facts are distrusted or not researched, or missed when they appear in the newspapers.

Many of the stadiums are AHEAD / Or on schedule, with the one stadium (PE) being reconfirmed this month. Many city developments and upgrades have been fast tracked for the 2010 games, infrastructural developments are on track, Gautrain is on track, roadworks all over the country have started and were fast tracked, (providing thousands and thousands of jobs), tickets prices finished, ticket categories exclusively for South Africans established, ticket fund for poor south africans even established, and many many more elements on Track.

SA is even fast tracking internet connection with Europe (the pipe that gives us slow internet now..) to be finished before the world cup.

It's time to either properly research these columns, especially since the world will read this article and think... its not gonna happen... Africa... etc.

Whilst the facts prove we are pretty damn well on track.

And that's me being a foreigner (european) living in CT for 9 years saying it, and I need to, since I am in the loop of all news on 2010/ infrastructural/ tourism/ social/ marketing developments. This post is only a quick-reply-on-a-friday-before-leaving-the-office-because-I-must-reply.

on the cost: apart from the Jobs, revenue from the 2010 World Cup, the World Cup:

Just the exposure on TV because of the world cup could never be bought with money.

It might nog easy to graps for rugby playing South Africans, but the World Cup is the Largest Event in the world.

Investment worth it? Yes. More then. You will understand it in 2010.
Now I challenge you to write a passionate positive article on the World Cup. If not, I'd love to write one for Soccer365 and WorldCupBlog. Based on facts with a flavour of passion and enthusiasm.
