I’d love to see Germany win it, but Argentina has to be favored. That young nucleus of attackers will be nearing their prime by then, plus Garay, Fazio & Co. should finally blossom at the back. A lethal combo.

Brazil as it will be out of Europe. Argentina have some top talent coming through but they freeze on the world cup stage. I also wouldn’t bet against the holders, they have a lot of good talent coming through and Lippi has enough time to mould a strong, new defence based around Chiellini.

Argentina. Finally. But then they should probably have won at least a couple more since they last won and still didn’t. People talk about Spain, but Argentina’s underachievement towers in comparison in the last 20 years considering the literal hordes of class talent coming up through the youth ranks there.
