Cape Town Gets Green Light to Build 2010 World Cup Stadium

The provincial government gave the go ahead Friday for a new stadium to be built in Cape Town. The stadium construction process and Cape Town’s role as a host city had been in doubt and because of a land dispute. The 68,000-seat stadium will play host to a semifinal match in the 2010 World Cup.
