Canada and United States to Name National Team Coaches

By: WC Bob | May 15th, 2007 | No Comments »

Figuring that now is as good a time as any to get around to naming their respective national team coaches, the United States and Canada are expecting to make the choices official this week.

Canadian U-20 coach Dale Mitchell is expected to take over the helm for a country currently ranked 94th in the world, between Libya and Ethiopia. Mitchell has tons of experiencing coaching at various levels in Canada. I’m not so sure that whether that is a good or bad thing.

South of the border, the reports are saying that the United States is expected to remove the interim label from Bob Bradley’s title at a press conference on Wednesday. The U.S. made a run at Jurgen Klinsmann and a couple other bigger names, but in the end wind up with a guy who had a lot of success in MLS and who has three wins and a draw to his name after taking over the Stars and Stripes five months ago.
