Blatter never ceases to baffle me. I cringed so hard when I read this on the BBC. It’s a terrible terrible terrible idea. Even in bad conditions you can have a good pitch. You just need proper maintenance, proper technology, and a well trained grounds crew. It’s not rocket science (though given that I’m not an expert maybe I’m wrong about this). Plus I’d rather play on a slightly sub par pitch than a plastic one.
