Your Second Round Predictions

The eight games of the second round are set, but before the kickoff you’ll want to show the world how smart you are by predicting who is going to win. If you are like me and your first round predictions stunk worse than Serbia and Montenegro, now is your chance to redeem yourself. If you were smarter than the average bear with your first round predictions here is another opportunity for you to shine.

The second round matches are:

24 June
Germany vs. Sweden
Argentina vs. Mexico

25 June
Ecuador vs. England
Portugal vs. Netherlands

26 June
Italy vs. Australia
Switzerland vs. Ukraine

27 June
Brazil vs. Ghana
Spain vs. France

My choices: Germany, Argentina, England, Portugal, Italy, Switzerland, Brazil, Spain

I know, not many surprises, but I learned my lesson when I picked Ivory Coast and Serbia and Montenegro to advance from the first round.

What are your second round predictions?

Yep nearly everyone got first two correct, be interesting what kind of odds you would get on an accumulator bet or something. Any ideas?Should have done a collective pool ;-)
Also I even somehow managed to highlight Mexico & Argentina would be close, and Germans would be far too strong for Swedes. Lets see what happens with others…today’s Games: England to make a meal of what should be an easy game – though heat might yet be another factor – 35C – lets hope referees are sensible about letting players take fluids onboards. Portugal v Holland – should be one for the purists with both teams technical abilities. Portugese to come through in a close game. You heard it here first. ps anyone in Berlin – I’m coming for the Final – cannot wait!!

The confirmed 4 of the 8s: Germany, Argentina, England & Portugal

I hope for Italy to beat Gus Hiddink’s Australia. The Azzurris is my favourite ever since I understand soccer.

Switzerland, Brazil & Spain

Interesting, looks like France took a whole lot of people by surprise. A few people called 7 out of the 8 games correctly, but no one got all 8.
