Would you adopt them?

Yesterday we reported about a German comedian’s efforts to increase his country’s birth rate by offering free World Cup tickets to couples who pop out babies before June 9. Today we show that, in fact, Germany has too many children. Twelve too many to be precise. We’re talking about the 12 adult children taking part in Puma’s Adopt-a-German promotional campaign.

The concept is simple. Put 12 German twentysomething strangers together in a bus and drive them throughout Europe to promote Puma, Germany and the World Cup. Give them all labels like “The Intellectual” and “The Party Animal” and let them blog about the experience.

A bit like a reality television show only the result so far has been beyond lame. Case in point, we nearly feel asleep reading The Party Animal’s blog. With a label like that you would think her European adventure would be an off the hook orgy. Instead:

This evening we all sat down in the bar of the hotel to get some drinks and to talk. But soon I went to bed and talked with my roommate Kornelia.

The second day was as great as the first! We met in front of the hotel and went into the bus. Half an hour later we arrived at the Café Moskauand there we waited for the photograph. He was really nice and took some funny and great pictures of us.
After that we also waited for some guys from the media. It was a long time but we started to play football, listen to music and having fun.

We’ll spare you from reading the rest.

It is worth noting that our buddy Bense from Dortmund wanted to be a part of this thing, but thankfully he didn’t make the cut. He might have steered that bus off of a cliff.

Bense hasn’t given up on his shot at fame though. He’s trying to get on the BBC’s My World Cup show. They’re still looking for folks and I bet if you are chosen it will be much better than riding on that bus.

They’re off to London but one of them had to stay behind because he is “not allowed to go to the UK”. One can only speculate on reasons why, but I bet the organizers didn’t consider that before they selected him.

Ian - I asked if you would adopt them, not if you would date them…I’ll see what I can do though.
