World Cup National Anthems

The teams line up. The crowd rises. The national anthems are played. What a magical moment. Until you find out that the opposing country’s anthem lasts for 25 minutes and you realize that all that beer you have been drinking necessitates a trip to potty. To avoid this situation, you can check out the national anthems for your country and all of its World Cup opponents. I’ve been listening to my beloved Angola’s song all day long. You’ll want to get to know it now so that you can sing along when the Palancas lift the trophy on July 9.

I think the band, “A Flock of Seagulls” did the National Anthem for one of the teams in this year’s World Cup.

The Croatian National Anthem just rocks. Great melody and a powerful poem. Every Croat places his right hand over his hart when it is played something the Croatian team will be continuing in Germany.

Here is the English translation of this great work of art :-)
