World Cup Final Referee Recruited to Officiate in Qatar

Big name football players aren’t the only ones being lured to Qatar by the offer of big paychecks. So too are referees, including the man who officiated the World Cup final this year, Horacio Elizondo. The Argentine, who officiated this weekend’s Superclasico tilt between River Plate and Boca Juniors, has been hired on to referee in Qatar’s domestic league. Expect a rash of head butts to ensue.
