World Cup Final Ball Insured for $1M, up for Auction

By: WC Bob | October 31st, 2006 | 12 Comments »

If you have a bunch of loot stashed under your couch cushions, you can buy a piece of World Cup history. One of the 20 balls used during the World Cup final between Italy and France this summer will be auctioned off for charity on November 4 in Qatar. The gold ball, the roundest known to mankind, was signed by the entire Italian team. The ball has been insured for $1 million so you can bet it is going to fetch a pretty penny.

Meh. I might be willing to mortgage my life for a ball signed by the FRANCE team. But not Italy.

nice attempt at humour but you have to be at least semi-intelligent to pull it off. Keep plugging away at it Marianne you’ll get it one day.
