World Cup Bracketology

By: WC Bob | March 17th, 2006 | No Comments »

In the United States there is a wonderful tradition called March Madness. Every year people fill out college basketball tournament brackets and enter betting pools that reward those who pick the most games right. I happened to think about this when I saw an ad on this very site for a similar type of World Cup fantasy football contest. It offers you the chance to win $3,000 by selecting six teams that will do well at the World Cup, the four semifinalists and the World Cup champion. It has a weighted system that rewards you if you pick teams that aren’t favored. It seemed like a pretty cool contest to me so I decided to throw down my $10 and enter. For now my retirement savings are riding on Angola winning it all.
