World Cup Blog Achieves Global World Dominance

By: WC Bob | February 13th, 2006 | 2 Comments »

As young lads and lassies, the bloggers of World Cup Blog were never schoolyard bullies. We were too busy smoking in the bathroom and making out under the bleachers to ever engage in anything as sordid as fisticuffs. But now that we are consenting adults, we aren’t afraid to mix it up and throw our massive keyboard punching weight around. Today we celebrate our first cyber TKO.

We are proud of this achievement and we will go ahead and proclaim ourselves the undisputed heavyweight champions of the World Cup blogging world. We also remain the most humble group of virtual ruffians that you will never meet. We want all the other blogs out there to know that we might own the Internet, but you can always rent a bit of cyberspace from us. Kind and benevolent cyberslumlords we are.

And while his profile might say his name is Bob, the reality is that World Cup Blog is a global effort with bloggers from Bali to Brazil. We are the guy down the street you buy milk from, we are the grandmother you sit next to on the bus, we are the 35-year-old who stays up all night to watch the championship match of the third division in Mauritania. We are everyone. Hear us roar.

Ah, so there’s lots of you at WorldCupBlog.org then ? That explains everything. Well, maybe not everything. I still don’t understand the meaning of life, for example. It does, however, explain how you manage to create so much more content than my own World Cup blog.

Well said Bob – true about who we are. Hopefully I will one day be the grandfather you sit next to on the bus.
