Which Country are you?

We’ll admit that there are many days when we feel like we were born in the wrong country. We usually don’t agree with our politicians, we’re embarrassed by our beer and we don’t understand why the World Cup isn’t a month-long national holiday. It turns out that we were in fact born to the wrong land. We took this six-question quiz and found out that our home county is actually the United Nations. This is only fitting because outside of our blatant cheerleading for Angola, we try to be neutral on this blog. We are a bit disappointed, however, that the UN didn’t qualify for Germany 2006, but once Kofi Annan whips our football team into shape there will be no stopping us in 2010. Take the quiz and let us know your country.

I got the UN as well. Not very exciting, but the beer selection is better.

I got Brazil and here is what they said:

You’re Brazil!
You’re athletic, charming, and probably a good dancer. Unfortunately, you don’t really mind chopping down the rain forest, and you probably consider homeless people expendable in certain circumstances. Of course, your personality is so diverse that it’s hard to track down exactly what you’re like. You definitely like Pele, the World Cup, and shouting “gooooal” at the top of your lungs.

I got Sudan. i dont no how but i managed to get a country that ive never heard of before. The things crap cos i never take any medicine and i understand anything becuase im a genius.

You’re Sudan!
Every time you get a headache, you reach for some aspirin, only to realize that someone destroyed it. That’s just how things are going for you right now… it’s hard to eat, hard to sleep, hard to not have a headache. You try to relax, but people always jump on you about something that doesn’t make sense. If you were a goat, you’d be a Nubian.

You’re Thailand!
Calmer and more staunchly independent than almost all those around you, you have a long history of rising above adversity. Recent adversity has led to questions about your sexual promiscuity and the threat of disease, but you still manage to attract a number of tourists and admirers. And despite any setbacks, you can really cook a good meal whenever it’s called for. Good enough to make people cry.

You’re Germany!
You have a really ugly past, one that defies description. This gives you tremendous guilt, but you’ve coped with it and flourished into an awfully good person, considering. You’ve finally made peace with yourself, in so many ways, and you’ve been able to build on that for a bright and capable future. You’ve become so enlightened that you’re probably a member of the Green Party, or at least listen to their demands.

“I’m Spain”, apparently…

How nice for a portuguese!

Funny thing is, they say:

“You’re Spain!(…)
, as well as interesting architecture and a diverse number of races and religions. You like to explore a lot, (…)”

Variety of races???? In Spain??? God!!! Not that it means anything, but this is a clear issue where there’s no comparison whatsoever. Just look at each National Team…

Religion diversity, neither country is big on this… “We”‘re catholics since the beggining – for Portugal, since around 1147.

This takes it for me… EXPLORING??? Clearly these people never read a history book.

The other day, I was amazed to find out that according to FIFA(FIFA site via Euler) it was actually Pizarro – not Pedro Alvares Cabral – who discovered Brazil and that although Spain and Holland fought over it, it was the portuguese who won.

How stupid can somebody actually be, to write stuff they know nothing about, moreover being history. I wonder…

Got nothing against Spain, mind you. Love the people, culture, food, etc, and would have loved to see them going through groups together with us (rather than Greece) in EC04. It’s not the same between POR and SPA than with GER and HOL.

It’s just a question of justice. There, I’ve said my piece…

Boy, that thing pegged me. I’m Mexican. There are some similarities between our two people. Both the Croats and the Mexicans have an insatiable apetite for corruption and taking it easy.

I’m Libya? I know so little about this country… but I liked the “threat to the established order” thing.

It seems that these days, you just say things to get attention. Shock value is the really important thing for you now. You used to have a cause, and this made you seem like a threat to the established order, but now you just want to say wacky stuff once in a while. Air travel doesn’t really mesh with your lifestyle, and you’d probably scare the security guards somehow anyway.

I didn’t like the “want to say wacky stuff once in a while”.

I sort of tried out a lot, and the last question actually solely decides what country you are… Oh boy, I was the GDR and the USSR once…

South Africa here.

After almost endless suffering, you’ve finally freed yourself from the oppression that somehow held you back. Now your diamond in the rough is shining through, and the world can accept you for who you really are. You were trying to show who you were to the world, but they weren’t interested in helping you become that until it was almost too late. Suddenly you’re a very hopeful person, even if you still have some troubles.

This is interesting because I really, really want to see South Africa.

I’m Ireland! And this is frighteningly accurate… Perhaps I should visit the Emerald Isle someday, eh?

“Mystical and rain-soaked, you remain mysterious to many people, and this makes you intriguing. You also like a good night at the pub, though many are just as worried that you will blow up the pub as drink your beverage of choice. You’re good with words, remarkably lucky, and know and enjoy at least fifteen ways of eating a potato. You really don’t like snakes.”

you’re madagascar!

lots of people don’t really know anything about you, making you buried treasure of the rarest kind. you love nature, and could get lost in it whenever possible. you’re remote and exotic, and the few people who know you value whatever they share with you a great deal. for some reason, you really like the word “lemur”.

it’s quite accurate.

You’re Mexico!
While some people think you’re poor and maybe a little corrupt, you know where it’s at, enjoying good food and nice beaches. You like to take things a little slower than those around you, and you really wish the air were cleaner, but sometimes compromises must be made. For some reason, Chevrolet keeps trying to sell you Novas as well, even though they don’t really go.

Yep I’m a mexican who got Mexico and is not happy what the page says about us. Well what da heck, at leat I didn’t get the UN. hehe
