We’re Bullish on Thai Noodles

By: WC Bob | February 21st, 2006 | 2 Comments »

World Cup Blog is always on the lookout for good investment opportunities. Today we are breaking our piggy banks and calling our stock broker because we have a surefire winner: Thai instant noodles. Not only are noodles in Thailand delicious, but they are also going to be very profitable this summer thanks in part to the World Cup.

Because the matches will be broadcast in the wee hours of the morning in Thailand, right at the time when everyone gets the munchies, Thais across the nation will be turning to instant noodles to satiate their appetites. All of this translates into a forecasted 10% growth in the Thai noodle industry and an early retirement for those who invest in the industry.

Just out of curiosity (not because we are capitalist swine), what do people in your country like to eat during football matches?

At the stadia in Korea, they served kimbap - which amounted to (cooked) ham sushi rolls. They were actually quite good.

Eat? We are so tense that our mouths doesn\’t open wide enough. We drink a lot of beer, like many other people.
