US Rises in the Rankings of Metrosexuals

Wow, what a week it has been for fans of the US team. First they learn that the team is now ranked number six in the world by FIFA and now they get to see some of their top domestic players decked out in a homoerotic photo spread in Maxim magazine.

Disproving the notion that all publicity is good publicity, the players allowed themselves to be dressed up like a bunch of pimps, playerz and private eyes. Here’s a sample:

Of course, US fans know this isn’t the first time its players have been asked to pose in such an arousing fashion. Before the 2002 World Cup there was a legendary spread in the New York Times that featured shots such as this one of Landon Donovan:
