US Fans Can Listen to World Cup on Satellite Radio

By: WC Bob | March 21st, 2006 | 5 Comments »

Fans of the Beautiful Game in the United States now have an alternative to listening to the dreadful broadcasts on ESPN. XM Satellite Radio has announced that it will have a dedicated channel for World Cup coverage. Among the featured talking heads will be Jeff Agoos, Thomas Dooley, Carlos Hermosillo, Bora Milutinovic, and Carlos Valderrama. This is welcome news for soccer fans in the States. It is also welcome news for us because it gives us an excuse to post a picture of Carlos Valderrama. Do you suppose they make radio headphones that are big enough to fit around that hair?

It wouldn’t be a World Cup without a mention of Valderama!

how?? I am dying here at work. I’ve watched all the matches so far and figured I have a hard time here at work (stupid firewall/security crap – gmail chat is wide open but noooo I can’t listen to radio?) but this is ridiculous. I can’t get xm radio to even load properly much less run. I can understand german so even a german radio station with the live broadcasts would be ok.. stupid work, stupid firewall. Grr.

Well u don’t have to worry about not being able to listen to it on XM Sara. they are not broadcasting the games on-line. I just checked and all they have is their usual music channels. what a ripoff!
