United States Defeat Venezuela

Brian Ching and Clint Dempsey scored to lead the United States to a 2-0 victory over Venezuela Friday night in Cleveland, Ohio. Following a poor performance in a loss to Morocco earlier in the week, the United States faired better against Venezuela. You can read the blow-by-blow account on Daryl’s USA Blog. The Yanks finish up their send off tour on Sunday with a game against Latvia. Here are the results from of all the friendlies this the week. More fun ahead next week. That’s a promise.

Now that I’ve had a few hours to reconsider the win, I’m going to give more credit than I originally felt last night.

Sure, that was Venezuela last night, but we played with our B team. And, we didn’t look pressed or flustered at any point.

I’ll take the win, but I’m not going to put any stock in it, as far as World Cup expectations go.
