This Just In: Ronaldinho is Good

By: WC Bob | March 7th, 2006 | 6 Comments »

RonaldinhoOk, everybody already knows how good he is, but man I just watched Ronaldinho play for Barcelona against Chelsea in the Champions League match and I feel the need to rave about the guy. His combination of style, smarts and skill is just an absolute pleasure to watch. Not only does he play with grace, but he looks like a big, happy kid having a kick around with his friends. Even when I am rooting against his team I find it hard to root against him. In the coming months we’ll spend a lot of time talking about the game’s great players, but for my money there is one king of the game these days and he is Ronaldinho.

I have to agree with you. The guy is just in a different league to everyone else. He is just sheer class and his tricks on the ball are just unbelievable. Oh well, what a World cup to look forward too with the likes of him around.

I couldn’t agree more. The little I have seen of him, he’s got football charisma.

It’s fitting that the kingpin of Chelsea (Terry), and the heart of their defense (the heart of the British game) was so thoroughly bested by skill, as he was unceremoniously put to the ground during a thundering run from Ronaldinho, followed by his equally crisp drive to the bottow right corner.

Ronaldinho provided exactly what that game needed last night, just a shame The Special One at Chelsea doesn’t have the good grace to acknowledge when his mob go out to better players, instead choosing to whine on about how Chelsea need to be part of G14 if the want to go anywhere in the Champions League, give the referee backhanded complaints, and go on again about Chelsea’s games last season with Barcelona.

I just hope Ronaldinho and the rest are on fire in the World Cup, Brazil at their best are untouchable.
