The Veron and Sorin Clash

By: WC Bob | April 5th, 2006 | No Comments »

Some good thoughts from JP on our Argentina blog about the rather ugly clash between Juan Sebastian Veron and Argentine captain Juan Pablo Sorin during Tuesday’s Champions League match. Veron, who hasn’t seen time with Argentina in a couple of years, laid a nasty tackle on Sorin and the two had a few choice words throughout the match. At halftime the two had to be separated by their teammates. It all made for wonderful television drama and I can see why there might just be a few people talking about it in Argentina. I happen to agree with JP’s take on the matter. Veron comes off to me as little more than a disgruntled player who is more interested in himself than in his country. Too bad. When his head is on straight he is a very good player. He is one guy who will be buying his own ticket to Germany.
