Take a Guess why Jack Warner is Back in the Headlines

By: WC Bob | September 12th, 2006 | 4 Comments »

It has been at least a few months since FIFA exec Jack Warner has been in the news for his perpetual crookedness, but you can’t keep a good crook down for too long. FIFA is investigating whether Warner illegally sold hundreds of World Cup tickets and pocketed a cool half a million pounds for himself. Warner, of course, got in a bit of heat before for using his power to pocket money from World Cup sales and apparently FIFA’s meager reprimand then did not stop him from doing it again. Let’s hope that FIFA finally grows some balls and gets rid of this guy.

FIFA vice-president, Jack Warner, is accused of corruption? Will he be demoted to Serie B of FIFA administration? Or will he just lose his gold pass entitling him to free first class airfares?

He basically snagged the tickets that were available to those people who applied for the 3rd round ticket lottery from the CONCACAF region, right?

[...] The Guardian today details allegations that Nicolás Leoz, a Fifa executive committee member and long-serving president of Conmebol, the South American football confederation, took bribes totaling £90,000 back in 2000.
