South American World Cup Qualifying could Start September 8, 2007
There is no rest for the weary or for fans of international football. South America’s organizing body CONMEBOL has proposed that qualifying for the 2010 World Cup kick off on September 8th this year. The first day of matches would feature Bolivia at Uruguay, Brazil at Colombia, Chile at Argentina, Paraguay at Peru and Venezuela at Ecuador.
South America’s teams will play each other twice during their World Cup qualifying tournament with the top four teams assured a spot in South Africa and the fifth place team facing a playoff against a team from CONCACAF.
African qualifying will commence on October 13 and the other regions will likely start things up after the World Cup qualifying draw, scheduled for Nov. 23 in Durban.
It seems like just yesterday we were wrapping things up in Germany, but the thought of qualifying already has me looking forward to some awesome times and football in South Africa in 2010.

So they’re using the exact same schedule in South America again?? I’m guessing nobody ever proved that Argentina at Uruguay was fixed last time.

If true, I would expect pretty good rosters at this summer’s Copa America.

Peru is this time going to advance to the world cup for 2010 because they got the four best players playing their which would make them go tto the top 4!!!!!!!!
