Socceroo Finds Hell is a Place Called Romania

Imagine having to play football on a dangerous pitch in -18 degree weather, having your passport taken away so you can’t leave the country, and being told that unless you cooperate your World Cup chances will be sabotaged.

Those and other outrageous things have been happening to Australia’s Michael Thwaite who is trying to survive his “living hell” in Romania.

Thwaite is being tortured because of his refusal to sign a new contract with a Romanian club team and because he has the audacity to want to leave the country to play in Poland

Can you blame him?

I think the Aussies need to send in a plane to whisk him away to safety in the middle of the night. I bet John Travolta would be up to the task.

[...] Then there is the Australian player who compared playing in Romania to living in hell. He should try living in Moldova. Just kidding. Go there, you’ll love the wine. [...]
