Snake Bitten

By: WC Bob | March 18th, 2006 | No Comments »

German midfielder Sebastian Deisler has been ruled out of playing in the World Cup after sustaining a knee injury during training with his club Bayern Munich last week. Deisler will miss up to six months of action. The creative midfielder’s career has been plagued by injury and depression. He missed out on playing in the 2002 World Cup because of, what else, a knee injury – one of four he has had in his career. Deisler is one of the few German players I have really enjoyed watching over the years so I feel bad that he will likely never play in a World Cup. This is, of course, also an unfortunate loss for a German team that is under fire for being abysmal.
