One World Cup related issue that I’ve avoided blogging about up until this point is prostitution. With millions of people coming to Germany this summer, it is anticipated that prostitutes from around the world will be busy. I just find the whole situation extremely sad and prefer to talk about the more positive aspects of the World Cup. But one issue I can’t overlook is that of human trafficking. In the modern world we live in, it is horrifying to think that people are still being bought and sold, forced into a life they don’t want to live. I hope you’ll join me and thousands from around the world in signing this petition that asks the European Union to help put an end to human trafficking. Thanks

As I wrote early last month, every time I read the headlines about prostitution and human trafficking at the World Cup I just end up feeling terribly sad. I simply wish it wasn’t a story this summer, but I know that it will be. [...]
