Sheva Likely to join Chelsea’s World Cup Team
Ukraine striker Andriy Shevchenko is leaving AC Milan and will begin negotiating with Chelsea. According to a statement on AC Milan’s website on Friday, Shevchenko says that he is leaving for the proverbial “family reasons.” You probably don’t need to be reminded that his wife is a member of that family and she is a supermodel. If your wife was a supermodel and she said she wanted to go to London, you would probably pack your bags immediately too.
If Sheva does sign with Chelsea, that will mean the team will have 18 players represented in the World Cup, the most of any club.
Here’s Chelsea’s World Cup team. I think they would do ok if they took Ukraine’s place in Group H:
For England – John Terry, Wayne Bridge, Frank Lampard and Joe Cole
For Czech Republic – Goalkeeper Petr Cech
For Germany – Michael Ballack, Robert Huth
For Holland – Arjen Robben
For Ghana – Michael Essien
For France – William Gallas , Claude Makelele
For Portugal – Paulo Ferreira, Ricardo Carvalho and on-loan Maniche
For Ivory Coast – Didier Drogba
For Spain – Asier Del Horno
For Argentina – Hernan Crespo
For Ukraine – Andriy Shevchenko*
