Ronaldowatch™: He’s not a Fat Bull, for now

By: WC Bob | May 29th, 2006 | 3 Comments »

Brazil striker Ronaldo is keeping our Ronaldowatch™ interns busy today. First we learn what he thinks about his expanding waistline. Speaking to reporters, he said he is quite comfortable with a little flab in the middle. “Nobody ever takes about exact numbers, about the percentage of fat. It’s down to a lack of knowledge, a lack of information and a lack of something better to talk about,” he said. Fair enough. We all put on a little weight as we get older and the food in Spain is excellent. Let’s talk about something else.

How about his desire to play in the United Sates?

“Right now I have a contract with Real Madrid and I’m only thinking about the World Cup, but without a doubt, the American market is one of my goals for the future,” he said.

He has reportedly turned down a 10-year, $120 million offer to play for Red Bull New York in Major League Soccer. That would buy a lot of pizza, but can you imagine him playing for another ten years? I have a hard time picturing him playing as 39-year-old in the U.S., but I probably said the same thing about Romario ten years ago.

Perhaps the people most excited with the thought of Ronaldo playing in New York are hotel owners in the United States who will be able to auction off the rooms in which he stays. His training camp room in Switzerland fetched more money than Ronaldinho’s in an online auction we have been following quite closely at Ronaldowatch™ headquarters.

Our interns did get a bit confused and wanted us to include this story about the other Ronaldo preparing tricks for the World Cup straight out of the Matrix. We have no idea what that means, but it does sound exciting.

Ronaldo has a canny resemblance to the unofficial mascot for the Sydney 200 Olympic Games – Fatso the Fat-Arsed Wombat. That’s him.

The blog is in poor taste…..
Instead of speaking something good about the Great footballer, people are busy finding what he eats and how much he eats.. its a pity that media in general has degenerated to such unethical level and low standards…..

Make no mistakes.

Ronaldo is an excepcional player and certainly will break the record of the WC history, scoring 3 goals.
