Ronaldowatch™ Caption Contest

By: Peter | June 15th, 2006 | 43 Comments »

Ronaldo has been getting some criticism lately for having more paunch then punch in the win against Croatia.

Blame the fever, the blisters, or the extra baggage, but he just wasn’t the Ronaldo from 2002 yesterday.

Meanwhile, we ran into Ronaldo’s biggest fan outside the stadium before the Croatia game. Comment with your caption for the photo or make your best Ronaldo joke.

The winner will get my lifelong respect and if you’re in Berlin I’ll buy you a beer.

HE HAS ONLY PLAYED THE FIRST GAME, GIVE HIM A CHANCE. AND FOR ALL YOU RONALDO HATERS, HE HAS LIFTED THE TROPHY TWICE. AND WILL PROBABLY BREAK THE ALL TIME GOAL RECORD. WHAT CAN YOU SAY ABOUT THAT NOW. BRAZIL STILL # 1.

Ooops my bad. Calling someone fat is not politically correct. I meant to say “pleasantly plumb”. Please accept my humble apology.

Hey guys be nice Ronaldo is just training to be a goalkeeper.

It shouldn’t take long for him to get massive enough to block every shot on the brazilian goal…without having to move.

A couple of supersized Big Macs a day keeps fitness (and goals) away.

I think Gerd Muller’s record will remain intact after Germany 2006.

Okay I’ll play, even though you guys should respect a great player more:

Brasil’s greatest fan, Tub O’ Lard (right) harshly condemned his hero Ronaldo (left) following Brasil’s opening 1-0 win by interrupting his “three piece with red beans and rice” yesterday while dining at Popeye’s, revealing to reporters: “Well, I dunno what my brotha’s problem is, BUT I’ll ask him when he arrives. Pass the mashed taters, dawg!”
