RoboCup Team is a Real Machine

By: WC Bob | February 3rd, 2006 | No Comments »

Germany has often been accused of fielding a team that plays like a bunch of robots. So how would they do against actual robots?

A group in the UK hopes to some day find out.

According to this story, “RoboCup (the Robot World Cup) is an international research initiative to foster robotics and artificial intelligence using football as a common task. Its ultimate goal is to create a team of fully autonomous humanoid football robots who could play football against - and beat - the human World Cup football team by the mid 21st century.”

At Word Cup Blog we’d like to help the human teams prepare for their future artificial opponents so we will share this exclusive video of the robot team in training purely for scouting purposes.
