Boo Bob! Numbers are interesting, but the agenda of random numbers is sometimes suspect. There were many other numbers in this cup to highlight.

too bad that last game screwed up the statistics for Portugal, they didnt get a red card for around 50 games before that match.

19 - the number of fouls suffered by Figo in 4 games and I didn’t even count tackles suffered. The full tally is impressive indeed.

In the number games, somebody forgot about one former champion. Uruguay. They won the cup in 1930 and in 1950. Long time ago, I agree. But they were there.

Portugal has the most yellows due to the Netherlands game, also lets not forget that Portugal wasn’t suppose to have gone this far so the cards were given to make sure they didn’t. Guess Fifa took one in the culy this time cuase they are there and should of been there many times before.

Portugal tied with the Netherlands, penalties simply determined who advanced.

Yeah, it’s a technicality, but Bob is right :)

Nice collection of numbers! If you guys want to display other numbers, comment about them here.

53 are the fouls committed by Brazil, the least among the remaining teams in the World Cup. Fair Play is working fine for us until now.

Bob, you might want to add Portugal in there for “teams that won all four games.”

Ta - England tied Sweden 2-2. Luis the problem with Figo is that the FIFA rules call for a red card for a headbutt and not a yellow card. I think that’s what Joe’s point was.

Figo is probably the guy that sufferd most fouls, nobody has yet allowed C Ronaldo to actually play the ball (probably cos he’s just a worthless show-off bluf, not a world class talent), Figo already took a boot in his face and the world was silent (MEX or IRA, can’t remember) and no matter if he plunged into the ground against HOL, the elbow WAS in his face/nose. The head-blow was no more than a “kiss” (I’m not saying it’s right) and it was the first time I saw him do that in my life. van Bommel decided to feel that blow half an hour later, when the ref turned around. POR are the actors, right…?

How dare people talk about that after the sand bag battering POR was tacking by the dutch, and has been taking since day 1? POR is a bunch of thugs? And yesterday Spain’s suporters whisseling FRA’s anthem? What about yesterday’s excellent dive bt Henry (there was no foul and if there was it was in the stomach, not in the face), slashing the spaniards mind and giving them the lead, at a crutial moment? What about the card against SWE that didn’t exist? Or Italy’s penalty…? C’mon…

Let’s just play ball AND WIN IT! FORCA PORTUGAL!

ENG suffered 69.

HOLLAND suffered 53.

All you “porty” fans.. enough with your “we were foulded ” CRAP… your still there and unjustly soooooo… Your Capt. Figo got a pass with only a yellow.. he should be out “red card ” manditory for a headbutt(soft or not), fifa rule PERIOD. And I hear they are appealing other red carded players as well, feeling they were unjustly carded.. You should be out of the tourney and I HOPE that England sends you all back to your homes so you can whin about it for the next four years…

Hey Pedro P, I don’t recall Portugal winning the 1966 world cup. England beat Germany 4-2 at Wembley. However, the 1966 world cup did see Pele get knocked out of the cup by a Portugal side that decided to take him out. Morais of Portugal chopped down Pele in brutal fashion. I guess they figured that Eusebio wasn’t enough to guarantee the win. I wonder if Morais was Figo’s role model.
