Pavel Nedved Retires Again

In addition to his golden locks and ability to dive with plumb and grace, you have to give Czech Republic midfielder Pavel Nedved credit for being prolific at retiring. The Juventus player announced that tomorrow’s friendly against Serbia will be the last time he represents his country.

“I’m not suffering from any health problems but there are quite a few other factors involved and I want to give a chance to some younger players,” Nedved said.

You’ll recall that Nedved retired back in 2004 only to come out of retirement to help his country qualify for the World Cup where they bowed out in the first round.

At age 33, Nedved still has a bit of football left in him, but he is right to retire at this point in his career. Now we can only wait and see whether he remains retired.

Whatever his decision, respect to a great player. His sense of loyalty showed when sticking with Juventus doesn’t hurt his status as one of the best footballers of the past decade either.

he did a great thing coming back …for sure he is not to blame with retiring from National team at 33 …he outlasted and outplayed a lot of other superstars…
