Parreira: “Sex is always very good – always welcome”
It is officially World Cup season. No more talking about which players will make the trip to Germany. No more talk of Groups of Death. No more infallible predictions even. Nope, today marks a watershed moment in this blog’s journalistic endeavors. We can finally talk about sex! And the great thing is we can talk about it in the context of football, thanks to the proclamations of Brazil coach Carlos Alberto Parreira. When asked by Maxim magazine (a publication renowned for its football coverage) whether he would ban his players from partaking in intercourse like his predecessor Luis Felipe Scolari did in 2002, Parreira uttered these words of wisdom.
“I don’t think that sex one day before the game will have any harm on the player. Just sex, no problem. The problem is, they don’t eat, they don’t sleep, they smoke and they drink. That is the problem. Sex? No, sex is always very good — always welcome,” Parreira said.
With the top-ranked team’s coach on record as being pro-sex, you can only expect that there will be a number of coaches around the world who will be re-examining their own team’s policies regarding what is always one of the more highly debated topics of any World Cup.
We will be here to cover it all and to help you keep track of which teams will be smiling in Germany and which teams will be all business. For today, we will add Brazil into the pro-sex column of our tally sheet. One down, 31 teams to go.

PT fans, however, are encouraged to have as much sex as possible. Before, after and during matches if you can manage the feat. If the team doesn’t win, it will at least make it worth our time.

Wise words!
What do you mean no sex for Portugal? I didn’t know Scolari was from “that” school. Is he really?
I actually imagine sex would be good as its anti-stress and relaxing effect is notoriously known by humanity…
Hey could this be the key to Brasil’s success?

This was a main headline for one big newspaper here in brazil today. I’m wondering how important is that Parreira let the players have sex in a day were 8 ministers resigned and 122 people including ex-ministers, congress men and other goverment employees were accused buy the congress itself for corruption.

[...] The Central American team just needs to look a little south to a country called Brazil. The five-time World Cup champions are free to frolic with their significant others in Germany. Ever wonder why Ronaldinho is always smiling? [...]

That means no sex for Portugal. That’s fine with me. After the Euro2004 final, PT players need to keep their priorities straight.
